The Color Purple.0

I used AP level thinking when choosing this book for the major project. My reasoning was as follows:

-It is super famous, there is bound to be information on it.

-There is a movie with Oprah and Whoopie in it, so clearly, it’s fantastic.

-My favorite color is purple.

-And, drum roll please, there is a musical based on it. If I can listen to music based on a novel, then the world is just as it should be.

I thought obviously, The Color Purple is meant for me! It better be, cause I spent $14 of my hard earned money on this darn book today. Anyways, I haven’t begun the novel yet. Even though it’s valentines day and all my friends were out with their cute and charming sweetie pies- cuddling with teddy bears, eating chocolates and smelling roses. I really had nothing better to do then curl up with a book, by myself, in this house, by myself, reading all night, by myself. Instead though, I spent the night wallowing in self-pity, full of self-pride for dragging myself out of bed to buy the book today. It seemed like a massive enough accomplishment to reason that I did not have to be completely productive.

Hopefully, I’ll dive right into it tomorrow. I’ll be sure to let you know how it goes.

As for now, Happy Valentines Day. There is officially 10 minutes left until this dreadful hallmark holiday is over
